Alien Skin Software, LLC. famous for its Eyecandy and Xenofex plugins have released a public beta version of Image Doctor.

Image Doctor is an image correction plugin that houses 4 seperate components:

Smart Fill - Replaces large objects and defects, intelligently combining the repair with the background. Remove signs and trash from landscapes, unwanted tourists from vacation snapshots, and uninvited guests from party photos -- without leaving seams.

Scratch Remover - Mends small defects and removes unwanted background details. Scratch Remover makes Photo restoration a breeze, repairing scratches, folds, creases, and wrinkles. Microphones, telephone poles, and trash are easily removed, also. In addition, Scratch Remover offers the fastest way to cleanly eliminate text from a photo.

Spot Lifter - Removes blemishes while preserving the texture and detail of the underlying image. Spot Lifter is ideal for erasing skin flaws such as moles, birthmarks, acne, and beauty marks. It's also great for removing tattoos and reducing dark circles, shadows and wrinkles around the eyes. Spot Lifter also erases photo imperfections such as watermarks, stains, time codes, and dust.

JPEG Repair - Revitalizes over-compressed JPEGs. Remove blocky compression artifacts while retaining detail and adding grain. Repairs can be made to an entire image or as needed to smaller selections. JPEG repair can be used to repurpose Web graphics and replace lost originals.
